چکیده

Memristor crossbars were fabricated at 40 nm half-pitch, using nanoimprint lithography on the same substrate with Si metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor (MOS FET) arrays to form fully integrated hybrid memory resistor (memristor)/transistor circuits. The digitally configured memristor crossbars were used to perform logic functions, to serve as a routing fabric for interconnecting the FETs and as the target for storing information. As an illustrative demonstration, the compound Boolean logic operation (A AND B) OR (C AND D) was performed with kilohertz frequency inputs, using resistor-based logic in a memristor crossbar with FET inverter/amplifier outputs. By routing the output signal of a logic operation back onto a target memristor inside the array, the crossbar was conditionally configured by setting the state of a nonvolatile switch. Such conditional programming illuminates the way for a variety of self-programmed logic arrays, and for electronic synaptic computing.

Nanocomputing Block based Multi-Context FPGA

As the minimum dimensions of CMOS transistors shrink down to 90 nm and below, some physical obstacles have been observed which prevent rigidly this miniaturization. For example, high transistor leakage currents lead to an important increase of the 'idle' power consumption of CMOS memory arrays (e.g. SRAM). This limits a number of applications, especially for FPGA circuit as its configuration da...

A Fast and Self-Repairing Genetic Programming Designer for Logic Circuits

Usually, important parameters in the design and implementation of combinational logic circuits are the number of gates, transistors, and the levels used in the design of the circuit. In this regard, various evolutionary paradigms with different competency have recently been introduced. However, while being advantageous, evolutionary paradigms also have some limitations including: a) lack of con...

Hybrid LUT and SOP Reconfigurable Architecture

With the increasing non-recurring engineering cost of advanced process technologies, reconfigurable devices have received great attention in small and medium-volume integrated circuit designs. However, low logic diversity and slow timing performance limit the efficacy of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and complex programmable logic device (CPLD). In this paper, we propose an efficient hyb...

Reconfigurable pseudo-NMOS-like logic with hybrid MOS and single-electron transistors

A novel reconfigurable hybrid single electron transistor/MOSFET (SETMOS) circuit architecture, namely, reconfigurable pseudo-NMOS-like logic is proposed. Based on the hybrid SETMOS inverter/buffer circuit cell, reconfigurable pseudo-NMOS-like logics that can work normally at room temperature are constructed. This kind of reconfigurable logic can implement up to 2n sorts of functions at n inputs...
